Michael Blanshard has been training racehorses in Lambourn since 1979, having previously worked as an assistant to Henry Cecil, Barry Hills and Henry Candy.

He has trained many winners over the past 35 years including the multiple Group winner, The Trader who won Group 2 and three races at Longchamp, Deauville and Chantilly, as well as Rambling Bear, Welshman, Lemhill, Teapot and more recently the two seven time winners Stellarta and Accomplice. Accomplice was also the first Lambourn trained winner of 2021.

We are a small yard with about 20 horses at any one time and we are able to offer:

• individual attention for each horse – which you may not get at some of the bigger yards
• a dedicated team who treat your horse as their own
• superb training facilities
• use of some of the finest gallops in the country

We can cater for participation at all levels, whether it be sole owner or a large syndicate. If you would like a chat or more information please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

Accomplice (GB)

2014 bay mare by Sakhee’s Secret (GB) ex Witness (GB) (Efisio (GB))

The Reignmakers

Accomplice has won seven races in total including 5 times since June 2020 – more than any other Lambourn trained horse. She has been ultra-consistent and seems to have got better with age! Accomplice has the most superb temperament and is a wonderful horse to have in the yard.

by Bobby’s Secret

2019 bay filly by Bobby’s Secret (Brz) ex Kaminari (Ire) (Sea The Stars (Ire))

This two year old filly looks very sharp. She has a lovely temperament and is going really well at home. She should be ready to run late spring or early summer.

2018 chesnut filly by Coach House (Ire) ex Nimble Kimble (GB) (Kirkwall (GB))

A lovely big filly who we have taken time with. She is an excellent mover and will run in the summer.

by Pearl Secret

2019 grey filly by Pearl Secret (GB) ex Skiing (GB) (Sakhee’s Secret (GB))

This filly is out of a half-sister to the three-time Group 2 winner The Trader, also trained by Michael Blanshard. It is great to have another member of that illustrious family in the yard. She has been going nicely at home and is developing into a very nice filly.

Famous Dynasty (Ire)

2014 bay gelding by Famous Name (GB) ex Daffodil Walk (Ire) (Captain Rio (GB))

Lady E Mays Smith & Partners

Famous Dynasty is a stalwart of the yard having run 70 times, winning five and being placed over 20 times. He is not very big, but immensely tough and always tries his hardest. An absolutely charming horse in and out of the yard!

Ladyroc (GB)

2018 bay filly by Charm Spirit (Ire) ex Craighall (GB) (Dubawi (Ire))

Vincent Ward

Ladyroc is a lovely filly by Charm Spirit who has had a few runs. She has been given time to mature and should benefit from being able to run on the grass in the summer months. She is from a good winning family, all of whom have improved at three and four.

Mrs Benson (Ire)

2015 chesnut mare by Rip Van Winkle (Ire) ex Ebble (GB) (Oasis Dream (GB)

The Reignmakers

Mrs Benson has been very consistent over the past few years, having won once and been placed 16 times. She is a tough and reliable horse to have but enjoys her own space at home!

Supremo (GB)

2018 bay filly by Outstrip (GB) ex Thiel (GB) (Teofilo (Ire))

Brian C Oakley

Supremo has run once, but holds a number of entries at the moment. She is a very good mover who has taken a bit of time to come to hand.

Wisper (Ire)

2018 chesnut filly by Belardo (Ire) ex Whisp (Ger) (Rainbow Quest (USA))

The Reignmakers

Wisper was placed twice at two showing considerable promise, and has run well this year over seven furlongs and a mile. She has a lovely temperament and tries hard to please.
