Joe Tuite entered the training ranks in 2010 after eight years as assistant trainer to top Flat handler Mick Channon, having previously worked in a similar capacity for Charles Egerton. He trains from a purpose built yard in Lambourn, near to Hungerford.

During his time at West Ilsley, Joe was instrumental in running the 160-horse operation that annually sent out 100+ winners. He helped oversee the preparation of top-class Group winners Youmzain, Zafeen, Music Show, Flashy Wings, Lahaleeb and Mail The Desert, to name just a few.

Since taking out his trainers’ licence Joe has trained more than 130 winners, with his horses earning over £1million in prize-money. Notable performers from the Tuite Racing stable include Litigant, winner of the valuable Ebor and the November Handicap; and Madam Dancealot who notched up Joe’s first Group race win as a trainer when landing the Group 3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury.

From an Irish dairy farming family, Joe came to England in 1984 and quickly gained experience riding under rules as a conditional jockey. His talents as a rider and all-round complete horseman also extend to every aspect of pre-training, breaking and educating young horses.

With around 40 horses now in his care, Joe and his team are committed to ensuring that every horse reaches their full potential, whilst providing an enjoyable ownership experience for everyone that has a horse in training at Felstead Court Stables.

For over 30 years, The Lambourn Open Day has been the chief provider of funds for the welfare of our superb and hard working stable staff.

All the profits go towards helping them and their families. The bulk of the money goes to our Registered Charity, The Lambourn Valley Housing Trust. Please see below. The rest, about 10%, goes to helping various facilities for them, such as the Lambourn School, their Sports Club etc, as well as to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
