Group 1 winning trainer Harry Dunlop and his family welcome you to Frenchmans Lodge Stables. This Classic producing yard offers on the doorstep access to the world-class gallops in Upper Lambourn set in a stunning rural setting. Already Harry has topped the 2021 Trainer’s Hot List for winners to runners ratio – long may it continue! The Jockey Club Estate manage the 500 acres of training grounds across the Lambourn Valley offering a wide selection of surfaces and distances.

Harry started training in November 2006 with his first runner Situla giving him his first winner. Since then he has not looked back and has had top class winners both in England, France and Germany including Classic Remark (his first black type winner), Early Morning, Festoso (his first Group 1 placed horse), Fighting Irish (his first Classic placed horse), Green Moon, Jackfinbar, Knight To Behold, Red Tornado, Robin of Navan (first Group 1 winner), Roz, Sir Patrick Moore and more.

In 2015 Robin of Navan gave Harry his first Group 1 winner when wining France’s top 2yos race the Criterium de Saint Cloud Group 1. He then went on to win at every Pattern level multiple times. He has now been retired to stand as a stallion in France. From then on there have been more Black type successes. Fighting Irish won the Group 2 Criterium de Maisons Laffitte at 2yrs and thid in the German 2000 Guineas at 3yrs. In the same year Knight to Behold won the Listed Lingfield Derby Trial beating Kew Gardens (winner of the 2018 St Leger). He then went onto win by 4 lengths the Group 2 Prix Guillaume D’Ornano beating the first three home in the French Derby.  Jackfinbar won at Longchamp, the Prix de Lutece Group 3 by 2 lengths, the first British trained horse to win this prestigious race for 16 years.

Harry is never afraid to push the boundaries and the team here make sure every horse has a chance to realise its full potential. Harry Dunlop Racing offers fun and affordable racing for syndicates and partnerships as well as sole ownership. Harry has a proven success record with inexpensively bought horses.

All the profits go towards helping them and their families. The bulk of the money goes to our Registered Charity, The Lambourn Valley Housing Trust. Please see below. The rest, about 10%, goes to helping various facilities for them, such as the Lambourn School, their Sports Club etc, as well as to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
